Yesterday I put Castle on while I went into some kind of bizarro cleaning spree. The thing is, I'd totally forgotten that Aldis Hodge was in "Always Buy Retail", which, okay because I was all, "Hardison!" \o/ when I saw him. :D?

And then! )

Ahaha? /o\ Last summer I had a plot bunny for Steve and Danny's ~epic honeymoon road trip across America, only then I kind of failed at writing it? I wrote a few scenes here and there and this is one of them that I cleaned up a little. It takes place fairly early in their ~epic honeymoon road trip and owes a lot to this.

Okay, so. It's possible my life has been full of children and children-related things a bit too much recently. You be the judge, okay?

First off. Cabbage Patch Kids. I have nothing against them, but. Um. Have you ever been to the official website before? I'm not really sure how I ended up there in the first place, but I suspect it was something along the lines of what happens when I look something up on Wikipedia. (You know what I'm talking about.)

Anyway. )

Also. My nieces like to watch The Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, except for the fact that the adults on that show seem to rely on the three main protagonists - who are children - to solve all of the mysteries that take place in their community.

Seriously. )

And finally, for those who don't give a damn about anything else in this post, here's Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury reading a poignant little bedtime story to the Avengers because seriously okay, seriously.

Hey, guys. I've never been all that fantastic with Christmas cards (or, you know, cards in general) because I draw a blank at what to say in them. Anyway, yes. (See? My words. They are horrible. /o\)

If I could find an actual card like this, I would totally send it to everyone I knew. Everyone. )

An early Christmas present from a co-worker. And, sure. Ecto-1 was a 1959 Cadillac, but still. (Seriously, though. For some reason I am all, "Lol, beach party movie version! *hands*)

This is just one reason why I'm a terrible human being

Something totally awesome/horrible to do to someone is tell them Gremlins is a classic Christmas movie and their life will be devoid of all meaning until they see it.

Invite them to a screening of said holiday classic at your home.

Sit back and watch as they realize you don't actually have a soul.

Glorious.

I promise to stop spamming you guys. Soonish.

There's a fic in here somewhere.

Seriously, though. This is one of those things in which the seal pup wanders into Character A's home and then small town sheriff/animal control officer/whoever called to remove it (Character B) suddenly find themselves in the middle of a heartwarming family movie/romantic comedy in which they adopt the seal pup as their own until circumstances force them release it back into the wild, after having helped them realize their mutual attraction and love and oh, God, seriously. It's like a damn Disney movie.

And/or, Character B has recently discovered their Selkie heritage (totally by mistake, LOL) and wanders into Character A's life and then there are shenanigans? Also, possibly, Character B becomes BFFs with Character A's cat or dog and/or eternal rivals with said cat or dog while in Selkie form. Either way means more shenanigans! \o?

Really, though. I forsee a heartwarming family movie coming out of this in the near future. Most likely starring some adroable little moppet and her single mother/father and your typical cast of characters in such a movie.

One of the big toys this year is something called a Fijit Friend. They seem to be something like a more advanced Furby, and as many of you out there know, the Furby invasion was most devastating indeed.

While looking into the whole...Fijit Friend thing, I went to the actual site, and discovered that these so called "Fijit Friends", much like the Furby of yesteryear, are not quite so innocent and adorable as one might think. (For something in between a Furby and Fijit Friend, My Keepon seems to be another big toy this year. Also? I am not so certain it does not also possess the ability to utterly destroy humanity should it decide we have outlived our usefulness.)

It's like these people have never seen a science fiction movie. )

I just saw the trailer for the G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and I am all excited for it now? I was sadly disappointed with the first movie. But now. Now I really kind of want to see this one.
