Have recieved (what I believe to be, in this day and age) vitally important survival guides, as well as an all-important DiY book today. Plans, plots, and the like to follow soon.

P.S. Do not be alarmed if reports of killbots make the news in coming weeks, as really, who among us has not dreamed of having their very own robot death squad?

[Current Mood | weird]

Months and months ago, I posted an entry about some toys that, at the time, were called Go-Go pets.

(If you or anyone you know has small children, or you haven't been living in a hermit-cave or whatnot, you'll probably know them as Zhu Zhu pets. You know, one of the Big toys for the holiday season that caused (relatively) normal, rational human beings into crazed jackasses in search of said toys or any of the many playsets and accessories that went along with them.) At the time I posted that entry, I wondered if the toys were from some children's show I'd never heard of, but didn't really look into it.

Cut to today and this popping up on my flist. I just. I don't know, for some twisted reason I find this hilarious, and also, ahahaha, to anyone with a Zhu Zhu pet in your home once these new projects hit the US.

P.S. Ahahaha, the DVD commentaries for season one of Castle? A+++++, would LOL again. Also, Esposito in a bikini, surely there is fic of that somewhere, yes? I mean, they didn't actually come out and say it, but surely it was a suggestion of some sort, if not an outright challenge.

...:D?

Have just spent my day off watching the rest of Castle, season one. Am deeply, madly in love with this show. I want to draw hearts all over it, or perhaps on the trapper keeper shoved deep, deep in the back of my closet because really, how so amazing, show, how so amazing? ♥

I watched the pilot episode of Castle yesterday, and okay, it's perhaps a bit too early to claim to be in love, but at the very least I am very much in like with this show.

I just.

It hits every button I have regarding shows of its kind, and, oh, the fact he has an actual relationship with his daughter? So many, many hearts, I cannot even. (I am filled with warm and fuzzy emotions because really, how easy is it to create a show depicting a truly dysfunctional family vs what they've done with this show? Seriously, so many hearts.

...and then there were, of course, thoughts of a bandom AU, which, really, how awesome would that be? )

LOL, I usually catch a ride to work with my brother, which means I get there an hour before I have to. Lately I've been using the extra time to walk around the store to get ideas for Christmas presents, and last night I spent a few minutes looking at all the toy airplanes, and saw that we had some beautiful little remote control WW II warbirds.

All I could think about when I was looking at them was fighter pilot Gerard naming his plane after his grandmother and basing her noseart on an old photograph he took with him when he was stationed overseas.

He probably keeps it in his plane's cockpit, and, lol, poor Frank who has a really inconvenient thing for that Way kid thinks Gerard has a sweetheart back home! He tries to find out if Gerard's serious about her, which results in awkwardness and confusuin.

Gerard's not really sure why Frank's so interested in his grandmother, but she's awesome and he thinks it's only natural Frank thinks so too? Frank gets frustrated because one minute Gerard's all about how wonderful this girl is, and the next he acts like he's not planning on marrying her, which makes Frank think she either thinks she's too good for Gerard, or Gerard doesn't think he's good enough for her, and Frank gets offended on Gerard's behalf at first - which, hey, weird, he's not sure he likes him, really, they've only known one another for a few weeks by this point, and wanting to play matchmaker or something, which. Frank has no idea what's going on anymore, but he's sure the blame is all Gerard's, because, well. Gerard, right? Right.

...and then shenanigans!

...IDK, it's been a long couple of weeks and my mind wanders. Also, LOL when Gerard realizes Frank doesn't know he named his fighter after his grandmother, and then they become bestest friends, who have no idea how stupidly in love they are with one another, and there are shenanigans galore! :D?

I am...tentatively hopeful for the new V series that premiers tonight.

I haven't been keeping up with news about the new series, but the few commercials I've seen for it look promising. I...have nothing else to say, really, except giant lizard people who claim to come in peace, only, you know, not really! :D (Morena Baccarin is the leader of the Visitors, and oh, wow, I kind of love that casting choice. (LOL, Alan Tudyk is in the pilot episode!)

[Current Music |Blur - Song 2]

One of my nieces put a Sea Monkey aquarium kit on her Christmas wishlist, which, hey, you know. Sea Monkeys are awesome, even if they are in no way related to monkeys. I was set to buy her the aquarium kit she wanted, but then I discovered this little bit of amazingness.

Prehistoric creatures! Star Wars! (Clearly, double the awesome.)

There's also this aquarium kit for those who would like to teach their children about frogs.

(Really think about it, though, if you're looking to buy one or the other. Prehistoric creatures, or frogs. Frogs or prehistoric creatures. It's a tough one, I know, but it's a decision that needs to be made. Or something. *hands*)

These aquarium kits are from a line of Star Wars themed science-things, which was probably something an evil genius dreamed up because you just know there are parents out there who are going to buy these kits and whatnot 'for their kids' and the kids won't get to touch them.

Thanks to some anonymous evil genius you, too, can build your own robotic Darth Vader arm. Or train to become a Jedi. Hoping to teach your little ones how volcanoes work? Tired of all those boring build-it-yourself kits with the same-old, same-old volcanoes? Why not get the Mustafar Volcano Lab? (It comes with tiny figurines! *_*)

...this is why I get myself in trouble when the holiday season rolls around.

[Current Music |Aimee Mann - The Scientist]

I'm sure I'm not alone in my enjoyment of the the tales of derring do and other assorted adventures that can be found in radio serials of yesteyear, am I right? (Oh, come on, come on, you know you love them. After all, who else but The Shadow knows what evil lurks in the of men?)

...right?

Well, okay, maybe I am. Whatever, that's fine. The afternoon show on a local radio station has created their very own old-timey radio show, and the result is pretty much pure awesome. It's fun, it's stupid, it's stupid fun and I love it. (The science alone, I'm telling you. The science.) It's obvious they're having a blast with the whole thing, and it sounds as though they're going into a second season of the show...soon-ish.

At any rate, you can listen to the entire first season of Zip McCluskey's Outer Space Adventures...In Outer Space! here. (And, yes, the fact that I adore this show so very much probably explains a lot about me. :D?)

P.S. You can find free downloads for The Shadow and other radio serials here.

[Current Music |Chris Isaak - Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing]

Not so very long ago I was talking to my brother about the woeful, woeful, lack of media in the space zombie genre. Yes, I know what you're thinking, probably something along the lines of wtf is she talking about, but whatever. It was one of those conversations that so very often come up during the early morning drive to work while passing fog-covered fields. (Zombie fields, if you will, from which they will come, staggering and lurching in their never-ending search for tasty, tasty brain-meats. Possibly your tasty, tasty brain-meats.)

Seriously, though. Space. Zombies. Space. Zombies.

A rich and fertile land (space?) in which to spin new tales of horror and the like, and so unexplored.

Until now.

I haven't read it yet, but you can bet I will be getting myself to the nearest bookstore to grab a copy ASAP. I mean, really. Really. All I wanted were space zombies, but now there are Star Wars space zombies.

Glorious.

...also, hey there, peoples. It's been a while, yeah? :D?

Something both amazing and slightly terrifying:

http://www.mygogopets.com/about.html! It's like having a real pet hamster, only better because when you press their noses they make noises like a train or a rooster crowing or many other completely bewildering sound effects! (Not unlike a real hamster would, I guess. Maybe.)

Also, these macros reminds me of some of those movies/episodes they showed on The Wonderful World of Disney wherein the animals have wacky, zany adventures while someone with a kindly old grandfather-y/storyteller-y voice narrates.

(I am picturing, in this instance, Frank-the-young-and-foolhardy-cat meets/antagonizes Bob-the-cantankerous-eagle. Shenanigans ensue, followed by Frank or Bob getting themselves into a bit of a pickle, and after a moment or two of thinking things over, the other comes to their rescue. And then we get to see that despite their differences, you'll never find a pair of truer friends than those two. Or, you know, something like that. *hands*)

...it's been a long, day. I don't even have to pretend to make sense. :D

[Current Music |Blue October - Into the Ocean]

This is partly a post about the many ways RL has been keeping me busy lately, and also about this horrible brain mash of fic ideas brought on by random internet surfing and RL keeping me busy.

And, okay, RL has been mostly about work and developing a seething dislike of our neighbors for whatever the hell they're doing with the power tools all damn day every damn day. (At this point in time, I would prefer it if they were building a not-so-secret Lair of Evil or maybe a Doombot. Something to make all the noise worthwhile.)

The fic idea is all about that Gerard guy, and maybe that Mikey guy and the movie Space Camp. )

[Current Music |Get Set Go - Cannibalism is the Cure]

I know I'm not alone in wondering what my theme song would be (it's not just me, right?), and thanks to random chance, I think I may well have found it. (It also makes for a great song to listen to when you're having a crappy day, or, you know, just whenever.

Get Set Go - I Hate Everyone (This is basically what runs through my head on a frightening basis, only set to music. Catchy, upbeat music, which is fitting for me, really, because sure, I hate people, but it's not a burning sort of hatred or anything. If anything, it's bordering on heavy dislike, so, you know. :D?)

So now, the obvious question:

What do you think your personal theme song would be?
